Empowering Reserve Forces and Cadets  Across Southern England

The Connaught Trust is a charity supporting Reserve Forces and Cadets in the southern counties of England including Hampshire & The Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Dorset, Surrey, West Sussex and Wiltshire.  We provide grant funding to help develop cadets and reservists through adventure training, improved resources, camps and expeditions, events and competitions, and special projects.

Who we support

The Connaught Trust gives grants to Reserve Forces and Cadet Units based mainly in HAMPSHIRE and THE ISLE OF WIGHT, but also the adjoining counties of BERKSHIRE, DORSET, SURREY, WEST SUSSEX and WILTSHIRE.

We work with units of:

  • Army Cadet Force (ACF)

  • Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC)

  • Sea Cadets Corps (SCC)

  • Volunteer Cadet Corps (VCC)

  • Combined Cadet Force (CCF)

  • Army Reserve (AR)

  • Royal Naval Reserve (RNR)

  • Royal Marines Reserve (RMR)

  • Royal Air Force Reserve (RAFR)

  • University Officer Training Corps (UOTC)

  • University Air Squadron (UAS)

We fund a wide range of activities and essential resources for UK Reserve Forces and Cadets, helping them grow in resilience, confidence, and capability

Our funding can support, but is not limited to:

  • Adventure Training Expeditions – Challenge, teamwork and personal development in the great outdoors, either in the UK or abroad.

  • Summer Camps – Unforgettable shared experiences that build lifelong skills.

  • Battlefield Tours – Educational journeys that deepen military understanding and history.

  • Training, Military and Sports Equipment – Tools for learning, fitness, and discipline.

  • Classroom Equipment - Improvements to learning environments to make them more engaging and effective.

  • Facility Improvements – Enhancing cadet huts, training grounds, and unit buildings.  Conditions apply - please check Eligibility Criteria

  • Competitions and Events - Building teamwork, leadership, and pride through friendly challenge and achievement.
