Over the weekend of the 23/24 June 2018 some 36 teams from the ACF/CCF & RAFAC took part in the annual Inter Service Clay Target Competition at Cambridge Gun Club.
The competition is split into three parts a 25 target sporting, 25 target Down the Line and all four team members shooting together in a 60 target flush.
When the results were announced on the Sunday afternoon the Hants and IOW RAFAC teams had shoot brilliantly to come away with prizes again.
The A team were the overall champions they also won the DTL Competition and were the top ATC Team the B team were Silver medal winners in the sporting competition and the C team a bronze medal in the flush despite only having three shooters.
Cadet Sampson from 1216 Eastleigh Squadron also represented the ATC as part of the Inter Service Skeet team which saw us win the trophy for the first time.
These results would not have been possible without the help of the trust, as Cadet Flt Sgt Horner, the teams captain, said and I quote; “Having the training and the cartridges we used in that training was only made possible by our grant, and on behalf of all the cadets I would like to thank the Connaught Trust.”
As the officer in charge of clay shooting in the wing I would also like to add my thanks along with other members of my team to the trust who have been staunch supporters of clay shooting in our wing.
